I also have RV. Never rented, but a lot of miles on mine.
The gas is not, of course, economically. Mine an average of 6 miles per gallon ..

We do not rent a motor home, but she made the trip across the United States with us. We have many, many people who rented one, and only love. Most leases are Class C (CAB-off), where we read in the cabin. They are not difficult to handle. We have in 44 states. The cruise-only 3 months, I booked our campsites at least 1 week. in advance. Then of course there's Wal-Mart, that most Overnite let you stay, if necessary. There are so many places to camp - I suggest you have an RV forum on the Internet that all kinds of information that you provide.
